Need A New Calendar 2011?

It's that time of year again. It's crept up on us once more – just a few more weeks before we throw out our trusty 2010 wall calendar, who’s been with us throughout the good times and the bad.

Kao vlasnik Libris komunikacija i voditelj edukacijskih programa u Velikoj Britaniji i Hrvatskoj, Peter donosi dodatnu vrijednost u ZIMO kroz nove marketinške i komunikacijske ideje, alate, naputke i praktične savjete.

And so, we are on the search for the calendar that will take us step by step across the days, months and seasons of what 2011 has in store for us!

Calendars have somehow always amazed me. Colourful, amusing, creative – but remember, whatever way you decide to look at it, a calendar needs to be functional if it's got any chance of being chosen as your wall calendar. Let's face it, most of us only display one calendar in our homes – and it should be the one that stands out the most.

I've put together a selection of 10 creative designs that certainly caught my eye.

1. Magnetic Calendar

This is a wonderful reusable design – a customized magnetic calendar. This calendar was awarded the Bronze prize at the Kiev International Advertising Festival 2008. It features all months shortened to 3 letters, a 32nd day and special individual days like 'I don't drink' day. Simple and visually appealing.

2. Post-It Calendar

Probably one of the most economical calendars ever made! All from post-it notes. The concept is something like this; every day has a post-it note, each one has a date and a to-do list. Before leaving the house, you peel today's note from the wall or fridge or actually whatever, and put it in you wallet.

3. The Chrono-Shredder

A hybrid combining the functions of a clock, a calendar and a shredder. The difference of this calendar is that it shreds every single day in real-time. Yesterday, all your troubles will be far away..in the bin.

4. Bubble Wrap Calendar

We love Bubble Wrap. As soon as we see it, we can't escape the lure of the plastic little bubbles. An interesting idea to pop each bubble, each day but if it was on my kitchen wall, I would pop all the bubbles by Jan 2nd.

5. Eye Chart Calendar

The typographical idea of the calendar is based on the instantly recognizable eye charts familiar to anyone who has ever visited the opticians. Nice concept.

6. Sticky Tape Calendar

This would have to be one of my favourites. Stick it anywhere you fancy! Also, the concept of tearing off sections is also intriguing.

7. Wall Chart Calendar

Visually effective and eye catching. A great way to make sure you'll never forget what you've wrote on your calendar.

8. Playing With Words

Here we have a creative example of using letters and words within each month. Delightfully refreshing.

9. Match Calendar

Creative concept of pulling off a match for each day of the year.

10. T-shirt Calendar
